Product information The next step after der kleine Uhu (little UHU) could or should be der grosse UHU (big UHU), and it is certainly the perfect choice for group work in modelling courses. At the design stage we placed great emphasis on simple, straightforward construction. The wing is built using the familiar Jedelsky method, and all the component parts are supplied in the kit. The outboard wing panels plug into the centre section by means of two steel rods: one 3 mm and one 2 mm Ø. Fin and tailplane are of simple all-sheet construction, and all the tail parts are pre-cut and just need to be cleaned up slightly. The fuselage nose is accurately CNC-machined, so that the RC components, such as the servos, are a simple push-fit in their recesses. The RC components are easily accessible through a removable hatch. The tail boom takes the form of a straight strip of spruce with pre-cut channels for the bowden cables. For ease of transport the outboard wing panels can be detached, and the wing is held on the fuselage by means of rubber bands. Der grosse UHU can be flown as a pure RC glider, or alternatively can be operated as an electric-powered RC glider by fitting the motor pylon.
